The Chicago Cubs have released veteran reliever Héctor Neris, according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers.
The 32-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
Neris had a 5.80 ERA in 35 appearances for the Cubs this season.
Cubs Promote Right-Hander Jack Neely from Triple-A Iowa
The Cubs have also promoted right-hander Jack Neely from Triple-A Iowa.
The 26-year-old Neely has a 2.89 ERA in 32 appearances for Iowa this season.
He has struck out 40 batters in 37.1 innings pitched.
