LeBron Honors Wilson's Sorority with Custom Sneakers

A'ja Wilson, the reigning WNBA MVP, recently debuted a pair of custom Nike LeBron 21 PEs that pay homage to her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA).

This is not the first time LeBron James has used his platform to empower members of the Divine Nine.

In 2020, he released a limited-edition "More Than an Athlete" LeBron 18 that featured the colors and symbols of historically Black fraternities and sororities.
The move was praised by many for its recognition of Black Greek life and its contributions to American society.

Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest Black sorority in the United States, founded in 1908 at Howard University.

Its mission is to cultivate and inspire academic excellence, while providing service to all mankind.

Wilson, who is a member of the Las Vegas chapter of AKA, is proud to represent her sorority on and off the court.

The custom LeBron 21 PEs feature the sorority's pink and green colors, as well as its crest.

Wilson's custom sneakers are not only a testament to her pride in her sorority, but they are also an inspiration to young girls and women.

They show that it is possible to be successful in both athletics and academics, and that it is important to embrace your culture and heritage.

The sneakers also feature Wilson's signature on the tongue.
They were designed by Nike designer Jason Petrie.
