A Timeline of Events

The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, began in late 2019. On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), and on March 11, 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic.
