Argentina Vs Saudi Arabia

FIFA World Cup: Saudi Arabia stun Argentina in one of the biggest World Cup shocks ever

Saudi Arabia have pulled off one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history by coming from behind to beat Lionel Messi's Argentina 2-1 in their opening Group C game in Qatar.

The Green Falcons took the lead in the 48th minute through Saleh Al-Shehri, and Salem Al-Dawsari put them ahead just five minutes later. Lionel Messi had given Argentina the lead from the penalty spot in the 10th minute, but it was not enough to prevent a famous victory for Saudi Arabia.

The result is a major upset, as Argentina were one of the favorites to win the tournament. They are now bottom of Group C, while Saudi Arabia top the standings. The other two teams in the group, Mexico and Poland, drew 0-0 earlier on Tuesday.

The victory is a huge boost for Saudi Arabia, who are making their sixth appearance at the World Cup. They have now won their opening game in the tournament for the first time since 1994.

The defeat is a major setback for Argentina, who are now under pressure to beat Mexico in their next game on Saturday. If they fail to do so, they could be eliminated from the tournament in the group stage.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at the Lusail Stadium in Doha. The atmosphere was electric, with both sets of fans creating a deafening noise.

Argentina started the game brightly and took the lead through Messi's penalty. However, Saudi Arabia grew into the game and deservedly equalized through Al-Shehri.

Al-Dawsari then put Saudi Arabia ahead with a stunning strike. Argentina pressed for an equalizer, but they could not find a way through the Saudi Arabian defense.

The victory is a major shock and will give Saudi Arabia belief that they can make a deep run in the tournament. Argentina, meanwhile, will need to regroup and find a way to bounce back from this setback.
